On this multi-activity sailing tour we explore the beautiful coast lines of Halkidiki – Greece. We visit traditional villages, relax in long sandy beaches and discover delicious Greek cuisine secrets. From our base, the Sani Marina, we travel by sailboat, bicycle and foot to explore the region’s breathtaking landscapes and rich culture. We get off the beaten track, we visit archaeological and cultural sites and swim in the azure sea of the North Aegean.
In a weeks’ time we will cruise our modern sailing boat along the turquoise coasts of Kassandra and Sithonia. Departing from Sani Marina, we visit by bicycle the thermal springs of Agia Paraksevi, explore small bays, including the underwater life of Porto Valitsa, and swim in blueclear waters. We visit the famous winery of Porto Carras and we swim in one of the 34 private harbours of the hotel complex. We enjoy honey tasting of different flowers in Nikiti, and we visit the picturesque village of Athytos with the stone-paved alleys, fountains, houses and churches. Many opportunities will arise for walking, biking, watersports and for enjoying the party atmosphere of Halkidiki’s famous beach bars. If you prefer to relax, just stay on board and enjoy the view! Whatever the mood, this cruise will enhance your senses!
Holiday Outline
DAY 1 Transfer to Sani Marina – Welcome Dinner.

DAY 1
You arrive at Thessaloniki and transfer to our sailing boat at Sani Marina, approximately 1 hour drive. A safety and orientation briefing will be given, where you will meet your crew and fellow travellers. We will then relax and enjoy a welcome dinner at a Sani awarded restaurant. You can also take the opportunity to explore this bustling resort, to enjoy the party atmosphere of Sani’s nightlife or just have a cosyrest on board.

DAY 2
We start our sailing day heading south to Nea Skioni. We then transfer to Agia Paraskevi, one of the traditional villages of the region, famous for its thermal springs. We explore the area with a bike tour* taking breathtaking views from the cliffs out to sea into the southwest of the Kassandra Peninsula. We finish the tour at the thermal springs** to enjoy bathing in healing waters with therapeutic qualities.

DAY 3
We head to the east side of Kassandra to explore the underwater life of “Porto Valitsa” at Paliouri Bay. We will follow the “Discover Scuba Diving” Program*guided by professional dive instructors (Certified by PADI, IANTD and CMAS). We cross Toroneos Gulf to end our day dining in Neos Marmaras, a town on the west coast of Sithonia. Neos Marmaras is the most cosmopolitan of all the villages and towns of Sithonia. Here we will have the chance to scroll around and discover the village.

*Optional: This program is for anybody who is 8 years or older and wishes to try diving with TRITON SCUBA CLUB – our official diving partner. Everybody has the opportunity to dive, unless you have certain health problems which you will discuss with the trainers. The whole process is carried out according to relevant laws and rules of various diving organizations such as PADI- CMAS – IANTD. Our major aim is to achieve the highest safety and enjoyment possible for our guests, as well as an excellent service.
DAY 4
The day begins sailing towards the hotel complex of Porto Carras to visit the winery* “Domaine Porto Carras”. We will be guided through the biggest vineyard in Greece and will be able to visit the cellar. The wine tour concludes in the “Melissanthi” tasting room where we will have the chance to taste some of the most ancient wine varieties produced with modern techniques. Continuing our day we will relax in one of the 34 private beaches of the complex or try some of the water sports of Porto Carras Hotel. In the afternoon we will sail to Marmaras to dine and rest the night.

DAY 5
We sail north along the coast to the beekeeper’s village of Nikiti. Here we will visit the Rural Apicultural Cooperative for honey tasting*. We will taste honey from different flowers such as citrus trees, chest nuts, pine trees, heath, etc. and continue to thehistorical centre of Nikiti to enjoy a traditional Greek Coffee at the village’s oldest coffee house under the abundant shade of a huge climbing vine. After lunch we sail to Akti Kalogrias to spend the evening at the local beach bar and have a swim off the beach before sailing back to Nikiti.

DAY 6
On day six we start sailing towards the unique town of Athytos* at the east coast of Kassandra. The town is built on a rock with steep slopes and is one of the most attractive places in Halkidiki. We stroll through the picturesque village where we visit the church of Agios Dimitrios, the prehistoric mound known as Koutsomylos, and the Aletra building, home of a folklore museum. Later on we sail to Nea Fokea where our tour ends. Here we will have the chance to visit the Byzantine Tower, built in 1407. We will swim and enjoy a farewell dinner aboard.

DAY 7
Early in the morning we return to Thessaloniki MAKEDONIA Airport to catch our flights. For those who have time, a guided walking tour can be organised to get to know the city of Thessaloniki.

We recommend you to arrive at Sani Marina in the late afternoon /evening on the first day, and leave the boat first thing after breakfast in the morning on the last day. Your transfers from the airport on first day of the tour, and to the airport on last day of the tour will be arranged by us. You will just have to indicate us the arrival and departure time on your booking form. Guests can get on board after 17.00hrs on the first day. In case that you arrive earlier, you can spend your time exploring this bustling resort until late afternoon when everything will be ready for your group.

Meals: A taste of Greece
Our hostess will be cooking up wonderful meals during your tour. All products used for the preparation of the meals on board will come from local producers and the receipts will be inspired from our awarded Greek chef Giannis Giannakaras. On board we’ll enjoy modern delicacies and fabled Greek dishes along with distinguished wines, beers and spirits. Some of the products are branded exclusively for us under Acrobat’s “Deli Collective” brand name. We will be visiting ashore Greek taverns and restaurants chosen carefully and trying to find locally-owned hostelries which offer authenticity, cleanliness, welcome and real good local food. We will ensure you that you’ll have the chance to sample a good many of the local Greek delicacies and region’s wines.
Travel insurance
It is a condition of joining any of our multi-activity and theme tours that you must have valid travel insurance. It must indicate that you have cover for (at least) medical expenses and emergency repatriation in the event of illness or injury. We also strongly recommend your policy includes cancellation protection as all deposit paid are non-refundable.
Our travel insurance policy is specially tailored to the needs of the traveller and will cover you for any included activity on any trip. You can either purchase this at the time of booking or contact us after you have booked. Alternatively you might like to look at an online travel insurance company to give you a comparison in terms of price and coverage.
If you would prefer not to take out travel insurance you will need to complete a travel insurance waiver form.
Visas and passports
Citizens of the European Union or Schengen Treaty member states need no visa for Greece. Those from the United States, Canada and Australia do not need to apply for a visa to visit Greece for trips of less than 90 days duration. Other nationalities should consult the relevant consulate. All visa information is subject to change. You should confirm all visa related issues with the relevant Embassy prior to departure.
Citizens traveling inside the E.U. just need to display their police I.D. Card without the need of a passport. However, a passport is necessary for a number of other transactions, such as currency exchange, purchases, etc.
Note: During the stay in Greece, citizens with a visa must also have suitable insurance coverage for emergency medical or other needs.

Overnights
On our seven days / six nights sailing tour, we will be spending more nights in harbours. This means you’ll have the chance to go ashore and wander in the mornings and evenings when we are tied up in the picturesque Greek harbour towns and villages. When weather permitting, we will spend a night off shore.

Luggage
Total allowance 20kgs/44lbs. Space is limited on board so only bring what you need. A soft bag is recommended as it is more easily stored than a hard suitcase.
Clothing
During summer the temperature is really high especially in July and August whichare the hottest months. You’ll need your swimming gear and an extra towel. Early and late in the season, you will need a warmer sweater and/or fleece for the odd chilly breeze whilst we travel between the ports.
Footwear
Footwear is not generally worn on board but bring trainers, walking sandals for shore excursions or walking shoes for longer walks.
Equipment
Torch, sunhat, sunglasses and sunblock. Please note that if you intend to sleep out on deck on some nights, as many travellers choose to do in good weather, please bring a sleeping bag with you (the sunbathing cushions are available to sleep on the boat but cabin bedding can’t be taken on deck).
