Olympus Riviera, is a famous tourist destination of a great archaeological and historical interest, densely dotted with significant archaeological sites. Some of the most interesting are the Ancient Dion – the City of Zeus on the slopes of Olympus, the Holy City of Macedonia – the Neolithic Settlement of Makrygiallos, the ancient and Byzantine Pydna, the early Byzantine settlement of Louloudies Kitrous and the castle of Platamonas, built on the remains of the ancient city of Heraklion.
16 organised beaches each with its own different character stretching over 70km along the coast offering remarkable and unspoilt natural beauty, golden sands and peaceful crystal clear blue waters which are awarded with Blue Flags every year.
